Jeff Kuehn is the elementary principal at Springfield Public Schools and has served as a youth coach within the football, basketball, baseball, and golf programs over the past 11 years. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school and earned all-conference and all-region honors in football as a quarterback and defensive back at Yellow Medicine East. Jeff went on to pursue his education at Bethel University in St. Paul where he earned his bachelor's degree in elementary and middle school education. While at Bethel, he also continued his love of sports by playing both football and golf. After graduating, Jeff accepted a teaching position at New Prague Area Schools. While in New Prague, Jeff coached football, basketball, and golf at various levels while also earning his masters and school administration degrees from St. Mary's University. His roles in football at New Prague ranged from coaching the varsity quarterbacks and 9th grade offensive coordinator, to implementing and coaching the school's first elementary tackle football program.
Jeff will serve as the receivers/defensive backs coach as well as the JV Offensive Coordinator, entering his seventh year with the varsity program. During his time in the program, each year the Tigers have had a receiver with either 1,000+yards receiving or 10 TD receptions. He has coached numerous All-District and All-Area performers on both offense and defense. The JV program has seen its win total consistently rise, setting the foundation for success at the varsity level.
He and his wife Courtney, have 3 children, Grant, Parker, and Annie.
