Bob Fink was named head football coach at Springfield in 2018. He has taught and coached in Springfield for the past 30 years. In Fink's second season as the head football coach, the Tigers finished the season with a 10-1 overall record, a Southwest District Conference title and their second straight state tournament appearance. For the second year in a row, the Tiger football season ended by losing to the eventual State Champions in Class A football, Blooming Prairie. Fink was named the Southwest District Football Coach of the Year and was also named the Section Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. He has also been named the Vikings Gatorade Coach of the Week. During the 2019 season, Fink served as the Defensive Coordinator. The Tiger defense allowed the fewest points of any Class A football in the state of Minnesota throughout the regular season. Fink played college football for two seasons at NDSSS and Fergus Falls Community College. He played both quarterback and free safety. Bob has also been a head varsity coach for Volleyball during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Under his leadership, the team had a school record of 25 wins, a sub-section championship and a section runner-up finish. Bob was also the head baseball coach for Springfield for 16 seasons (1992-2002 & 2013-2017). During that time, Fink's teams accumulated 262 wins, won 7 conference titles, made 4 state tournament appearances in 1994 (3rd place), 2014 (5th place), 2015 (2nd place) and 2016 (State Champions). Fink has been named Tomahawk Conference Baseball Coach of the Year on four different occasions, Section Coach of the Year four times and was named the Minnesota State Class A Baseball Coach of the Year in 2016. Fink is currently a full time fourth grade teacher at Springfield. He also owns a business called, Educational Resources of MN, LLC. Founded in 2001, Educational Resources offers graduate level courses to thousands of teachers/coaches throughout the Untied States. Bob is the proud father of his three children, Alex, Taylor and Isaac.
